Working Hours Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday and working a shift pattern as requested by the Company. The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role. Main Purpose of Job To work as part of the NDT Inspection Team to support the overall production testing requirements for the Metals facility. The following is meant to describe the main tasks and is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties. It does not preclude the need to carry out other specific tasks from time to time as required. Key Tasks and Accountabilities - Practice a high standard of health and safety, ensuring equipment is operated safely and in accordance with EHS/Quality Standards and Policies. - Participate in 5s, Walk the Floor etc. - Set-up and calibrate equipment. - Process parts including preparation, before or after inspection. - Select the appropriate technique for the NDT method to be performed. - Interpret and evaluate results for acceptance standards and specifications, or rejection in accordance with approved work instructions and customer quality standards. - Document results. - Assist with departmental and improvement projects. - Assist with internal and external departmental audits; for example: NADCAP Audits. - Operation of mobile equipment. - To undertake additional training as part of a multi-disciplined team of inspectors. - Providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision of trainees. - Undertake other tasks within the scope of your expertise as and when required. Experience - Essential: Ultrasonic Inspection Level II - Essential: Experience within NDT and visual inspection environment and similar industry. Dependent on experience will determine length and training requirements. - Essential: Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology. - All necessary training will be provided for the successful candidate. - Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Packages; for example: Word and Excel. - Training will be provided on bespoke in-house IT systems and processes. Qualifications - Essential: ASNT and/or PCN at level 2 in UT Contact/Immersion/Etch. Please note: Candidates applying for this role must be legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
