To guarantee the profitability of AXA Partners P&C's business and ensure that technical issues are addressed consistently, a Central Technical Excellence team works closely with the Risk Management team to support the development of the business.
AXA Partners P&C's Central Technical Excellence Department comprises 13 technical experts (central underwriting and reinsurance, technical claims and data science teams) working for the various assistance business lines: Motor, Home, Travel and Health.
Position Overview
Within this Central Technical Excellence team, the Data Scientist / Pricing Actuary is responsible for:
Your main tasks will be to:
1. Develop sophisticated pricing models to support both local TEX teams and the business line's technical excellence.
2. Perform data analytics to address other business issues (expanding the use of data analytics to include operational, fraud and claims analysis).
3. Perform analyses to assess the financial impact of new pricing models.
4. Provide technical actuarial support to business lines and local TEX teams.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Price models
2. Develop pricing models to support technical excellence at local and business line level.
3. Perform preparatory data processing.
4. Develop models in R / Python.
5. Document results.
6. Develop impact analysis to assess the impact of using the new pricing model.
7. Support IT teams in the implementation of the pricing model.
8. Communicate results to stakeholders in sales and underwriting teams.
Data Analysis
1. Apply data analysis to other non-pricing topics.
2. Prepare data and create predictive models.
3. Communicate results to the whole company.
Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Actuarial Science or Engineering degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, statistics or mathematics.
2. At least 3 years' experience as a data scientist/pricing analyst.
3. Good knowledge of Python/R programming would be an asset, as would knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of the Big Data ecosystem (e.g. Hive, Spark, Scala) would be a plus.
4. Previous experience in handling and understanding complex data from multiple sources. An understanding of Data Science techniques would be a plus (e.g. Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, LGBM,...).
5. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in other languages would be a plus.
