Job Description:
The Welding Inspector is responsible for inspecting welded structures to ensure they meet industry standards, specifications, and technical drawings. The Welding Inspector will conduct visual inspections, perform dye penetrant and chemical inspections, and communicate effectively with the welding teams to provide guidance on welding techniques and practices. Reporting on inspection results and recommending corrective actions will also be key duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct visual inspections of welded structures to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
2. Perform dye penetrant and chemical inspections (NPI) to detect defects or flaws in welding processes.
3. Carry out MPI inspections (preferably) and understand technical drawings and welding symbols.
4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
5. Provide detailed reports on inspection results and suggest corrective actions as needed.
6. Communicate with welding teams to guide and improve welding techniques.
Skills & Experience:
1. C-SWIP 3.0 & 3.1 certification in Visual Welding Inspection.
2. Significant experience in welding inspection, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
3. Trained in Dye Pen and Chemi inspections (NPI), with MPI training.
4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and welding symbols accurately.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
6. Strong attention to detail, capable of identifying welding defects.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
