Salary: £12.59 - £12.80 per hour
Working Pattern: Part time 20 hours per week (Tuesday & Wednesday 9:45pm - 7:45am)
Enhancements: Weekend working - Time & a half, Bank Holidays - Double time & Night enhancement (8pm - 10pm shifts)
Contract Length: Permanent

About You
To become a Night Support Worker with us you will be:
1. Passionate about supporting people to be the best they can be.
2. Supporting people with their personal physical, emotional care and support during a waking night shift.
3. A good listener, patient and treat all individuals with respect, kindness and dignity.
4. Ensure people have opportunity to be involved in/Co-produce every aspect of their care and support.
5. Undertake light domestic duties as required to ensure cleanliness, comfort, and safety for people we support throughout the day e.g., laundry, or safely cleaning an area after a person has needed personal care.
6. Complete regular hourly checks around the service, to include checking on people’s wellbeing and on the security of the building.

About Stanhope Lodge
Stanhope Lodge is a registered service for up to 28 adults with learning difficulties, ranging from age 18 – in their 70’s with high level of support needs such as Autism and or challenging needs. Our accommodation comprises of shared accommodation, individual homes on site and short break service. The people we care for enjoy access to garden areas and communal activity rooms, we encourage socialising activities and celebrating important milestones such as birthdays & anniversaries.
We aim to enable every person to be engaged in their local community to the best of their ability. For some of the people we support, this could be through a programme of tailored support to build and develop them for day-to-day life skills on a one-to-one basis.
Key Skills (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)
7. You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
8. Good communication and interpersonal skills
9. You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
10. Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
11. Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.
Qualifications and/ experience
12. Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
13. Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
14. Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
15. Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
16. NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
17. Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
18. Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
