We are now seeking a Contracts Manager, experienced in civil engineering and earthworks to join our team, working out of our Head Office in Bury and covering the North West.
What you will be doing:
On a day-to-day basis we will expect you to:
* Ensure contracts are completed to budget and within client-defined timescales
* Take ownership and responsibility for all aspects of each contract
* Produce a resourced cost plan/programme for each contract prior to commencement
* Promote best practice, and ensure use of Company Policies/Procedures in terms of financial management, Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and engineering on all aspects of the contract
* Enhance our reputation through fostering positive working relationships with clients, designers, and consultants
* Question on an ongoing basis, production levels, gang sizes, material alternatives etc, to ensure that maximum efficiency/best buying practices are constantly being undertaken
* Support and offer advice to all members of your team whilst ensuring our company procedures are followed in the construction of the works
* Provide fortnightly cost/value and progress/programme comparisons.
Qualifications: To be successful in this role we will expect you to have the following:
* Ideally hold a Civil Engineering Degree
* Valid CSCS card
* Be competent in Health and Safety practice
* Current valid driving license
Experience: If you have significant experience managing all aspects of civil engineering projects, including drainage, concrete, piling, earthworks, utilities and river works, we would like to hear from you. Equally important will be your site management experience and ability to manage budgets/ programmes. Outstanding communication skills will be required in order to lead negotiations with client representatives at a senior level and knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts is also required.
