Main duties of the job To perform agreed nursing practice without direct supervision and maintain a high standard of nursing care. Nursing patients with specific A&E problems will be undertaken with guidance and direction from more senior staff, to aid development of specialist knowledge and skills to ensure appropriate nursing care. Maintain individual patient care plans, evaluating and updating them as necessary to ensure that the patient's physical, social and psychological needs are met. Will undertake initial assessment of patients arriving in A&E, without a diagnosis, with guidance from senior staff. Recognises the need for prioritisation, but refers to senior staff for assistance in carrying it out Learns the skills of developing a therapeutic relationship with A&E patients in a short time span.
