The Mary Erskine School is seeking to appoint a full-time, or a part-time Teacher of Chemistry from January, or as soon as possible after (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The postholder will be required to be able to teach at all levels up to Higher. A willingness to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme is also essential. Remuneration will be on the ESMS A scale. For full-time position, the remuneration is £34, - £49, per annum. For 0.6 FTE position, remuneration is £20, to £29, per annum. Remuneration is dependent on qualifications and experience. The postholder will work at the Ravelston site on The Mary Erskine School campus.
The purpose of the role is to teach Chemistry from S1 to Advanced Higher Leveland will include such duties as:
1. Assist in the development of courses (core and examined) for pupils at all stages in the school.
2. Assist in the provision and updating of departmental resources.
3. Attend all departmental meetings.
The successful candidate must have High professional and personal standards and a commitment to the values of The Mary Erskine School and be registered, or eligible to be registered, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
