Located in the picturesque village of Beer in East Devon, we produce high specification, technically superior model railway track, plastic kits, and accessories for the model railway hobby at our two manufacturing sites at Beer and Buckfastleigh. We also publish the UK’s best-selling model railway magazine, the Railway Modeller. Alongside the factory and head office in Beer is our tourism site Pecorama. Opened in the summer of 1974, Pecorama is one of Devon’s leading tourist attractions, welcoming over 25,000 visitors a season. Pecorama has award winning gardens, stunning sea views and the Beer Heights Light Railway, one of the country’s finest 7.25-inch gauge railways, opened in July 1975. As a company we have experienced growth over recent years enabling us to expand production, and we now have a team of 160 people. Role Description
In the UK we supply our products to around 300 retailers, all of whom acquire our products direct from us for resale through their retail stores. We have an enviable reputation in the industry for providing a high-class service to our retailers, with some very long-term relationships that have been established over many years. We also welcome new retailers to join our network of resellers and we actively seek new customers to expand our domestic network even further. The function of this role is to grow sales through building strong relationships with new partners, whilst maintaining the excellent relationships that we have with our existing trade customers. You will provide first-class sales support, taking responsibility for processing trade orders from the first point of contact through to final invoicing and despatch. Reporting into the Sales Office Manager, you will be working alongside our small but enthusiastic and motivated team within the Sales & Exports Office and Finished Goods Stores. Responsibilities
Handling all administrative processes including the preparation of orders, invoicing and
raising credit notes effectively and efficiently.
• Managing the sales pipeline and progress including updating the CRM system, tracking leads
and ensuring that all daily tasks and processes are adhered to.
• In conjunction with our Field Sales team, generating new sales leads with potential customers
and establishing contact via email outreach, networking and referrals.
• Liaising with the Field Sales team to ensure all sales opportunities are identified and actioned
to drive business growth.
• Delivering sales support to customers in a professional friendly manner.
• Working closely with colleagues within the sales, finance and production departments to
ensure that we provide the highest-level of service to our customers.
• Promoting PECO products, services and products as appropriate to generate sales
opportunities.
• Dealing with customer queries efficiently and effectively or escalate where necessary.
• Monitoring backorders and taking action as appropriate.
• Providing general administration services to other members of the sales and finished goods
* teams.

The right candidate will need to
• Be a strong analytical problem solver, able to correctly identify challenges that may present themselves and determine the most effective solution with the ability to “think on their feet”. • Ensure all our Retailers and Distributors receive the very highest standard of customer service. • Be able to demonstrate computer literacy, ideally having experience with Sage 200, CRM systems, Microsoft suite of programmes including excel, and potentially ERP (desirable). • Have the ability to work seamlessly as part of our team, but also to use their own initiative. • Demonstrate strong attention to detail. • Evidence strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to articulate ideas/leads clearly, actively listen and adapt their communication style to different customers. • Have a polite and confident telephone manner. • Be organised, logical and efficient when managing their work. • Have a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth - preferably but not exclusively in the B2B environment. • Be able to maintain strong relationships through rapport building, and trust.
