About the Constable 250 Project and this role
2026 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Suffolk artist, John Constable (1776-1837). Today Constable is recognised as one of the most important of all British artists, who changed how we look at our landscape and create art. Colchester + Ipswich Museums (CIMS) plan to lead a year-long celebration of this internationally significant artists’ life and art. As an essential administrative support of the Constable 250 project, you will be working alongside CIMS Collections & Learning Team and with a range of community partners.
In February 2025, the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded the Constable 250 project significant funding and the Project Support Administrator post will be central to the delivery of this exciting project. We are seeking an organised and efficient administrator who will provide administrative support and help coordinate colleagues and partners to ensure efficient reporting and delivery.
Colchester and Ipswich Museums Service (CIMS) is a leading regional museum service attracting more than 300,000 visitors every year. It is an innovative local authority museum partnership between Colchester City Council and Ipswich Borough Council.
