Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating transport operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods. You will liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth operations, optimize resources, and uphold the highest standards of service and compliance. Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule transport operations, ensuring the effective utilization of vehicles and drivers. Monitor and manage driver routes, workloads, and legal compliance, including working time and tachograph regulations. Communicate with customers to confirm delivery requirements, provide updates, and resolve any service issues. React to and resolve operational challenges, such as delays, breakdowns, or route changes, minimizing disruption to service. Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including schedules, delivery documentation, and compliance reports. Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service and fleet management, to meet operational and customer requirements. Assist in maintaining fleet efficiency, including coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules. Stay updated on transport regulations and industry best practices to ensure full compliance and continuous improvement. Skills and Experience Required Proven experience in transport planning within the haulage or logistics industry. Strong knowledge of transport regulations, including driver hours and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in transport planning software and Microsoft Office applications. A proactive and organized approach to work, with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with the Felixstowe port and its operations is an advantage but not essential.
