A vacancy has arisen for an experienced NMC or HCPC registrant to join our Professional Development Clinical Education team. You must be committed to the development, support, and education of our new colleagues at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
You must hold a professional registration and have excellent communication skills, together with a wide breadth of clinical experience.
As a member of our team, you will work within the operating hours of the Education Centre (Mon-Fri, 7am-5pm).
Main duties of the job
Providing ongoing support at point-of-care for those that are within their preceptorship period:
* Newly qualified professionals within 12-months of their entry to the NMC/HCPC register
* Internationally educated/recruited nurses from overseas
* Colleagues returning to practice after a break of more than 5 years
Providing a visible, point-of-care education service responsive to the individual needs of our new starters. Ongoing communication with staff members, Preceptors, and line managers to assess progress and plan further development.
Actively responding to referrals from line managers about identified concerns. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational intervention, ensuring safe and effective care. Plan, facilitate, and deliver clinical teaching that is classroom-based, digital, simulated, or at point-of-care, and having direct involvement in the ongoing improvement of the quality and breadth of teaching content.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other Professional Development Clinical Educators and the wider Education team to deliver an effective education service.
Support preceptorship across a range of professions, ensuring an equity of support and access. Facilitate peer supervision/action learning groups, responding to potentially challenging scenarios during the transition period from student to professional registrant.
Support recruitment events held by the trust acting as a role model and ambassador for the trust and our preceptorship programme.
