Founded in 1917, Bainbridge International is one of the longest established sailcloth manufacturers in the world, with almost a century's experience in developing and supplying the highest quality, highest performance materials to the marine industry. Bainbridge Marine is one of the leading UK marine wholesalers, supplying over 8000 products to chandlers, boat builders, riggers and marine engineers.
We are looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement Team. You will work across the business learning all areas of procurement within Bainbridge, working closely with suppliers and our internal teams. You will be responsible for managing stock levels for maximum cashflow whilst achieving availability targets and maintaining excellent supplier relationships.
What You Will Be Doing
* Source and purchase products and materials from approved suppliers.
* Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
* Production and BOM Management.
* Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
* Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to purchasing activities.
* Shipping Sea freight, Air freight and couriers in general.
* Customs clearances & HMRC Documents.
What We Are Looking For
* A confident self-starter, working well under pressure, able to act on own initiative, share knowledge and operate as part of a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Focus on maintaining and building strong relationships with suppliers.
* Ability to demonstrate a creative, innovative approach to problem solving.
* Have strong numerical skills, ability to work accurately with data.
* Experience of working with Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Advanced Excel is an advantage.
* Experience of using MRP systems is an advantage.
* Experience working in the marine industry not essential but is an advantage.
