Production Manager
Required to oversee daily activities. Reporting into the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will have proven success in managing multiple departments in a food production facility for maximum efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in change and people management, budgetary and fiscal management, an initiative-taker who will develop our work culture of health and safety, quality, technical standards, and diversity within the production team. The ideal candidate must be a strong leader with demonstrable experience of building and developing production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop food production systems to improve productivity and service to customers.
2. Lead, develop and implement continuous improvement across the production environment.
3. Plan and organise production schedules including labour demand planning.
4. Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity.
5. Ensure production planning meets existing and future business demands and ensure activities remain on time and within budget.
6. Management of staffing levels in line with budgetary and demand requirements.
7. Manage staffing rosters, weekly payments, and holidays of the operation team.
8. Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including Performance Development Plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
9. Pro-actively manage health and safety of the production floor.
10. Lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping through Good Manufacturing Practices and BRC.
11. Manage the training and development of the production team.
12. Introduce KPI’s to drive performance.
13. Support company values to ensure a positive culture that fosters good employee relationships.
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years proven success in a production management role preferably within food manufacturing.
2. Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
3. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management or related field preferred.
4. Understands Retailer and BRC Food Manufacturing requirements and has led teams to achieve Grade A or above.
5. Excellent people and organisational skills.
6. Experience in financial budgetary processes.
7. Team player who values collaboration.
