The BIC Foundation Loan & Operations Officer has a twofold role:
As the Loan Officer, he/she develops and implements strategies for the loaning of funds in support of the mission and ministries of the Brethren in Christ Church under the auspices of the Brethren in Christ Foundation. Working with local congregations, ministries, pastors, and missionaries, this position seeks to promote the underwriting, structuring, and closing of loans and maintaining the existing BICF loan portfolio, while also promoting investment participation in the BICF loan fund.
As the Operations Officer, he/she is responsible for all aspects of the safety, maintenance, and repair of the Brethren in Christ headquarters building and is responsible for IT support for all software and hardware for BICF and BIC U.S. With his/her potential travel to all conferences in the BIC church, the Officer also serves as an informal ambassador/representative of the Brethren in Christ U.S.
* Position type: Full-time, approximately 40+ hours/week (Monday-Friday) with some weekends.

As a service organization, the BIC Foundation provides a means for investors and beneficiaries to partner together in growing BIC ministry. Money invested in the Foundation is used to fund facility purchases and help ministers purchase homes. Through this, we seek to financially empower transformative ministry through our loan offerings.
Qualifications

* Organizational Skills – Management of loan portfolio, applications, and all associated job responsibilities.
* Series 63 License Required.
Loans
* Respond to inquiries from pastors, churches, missionaries, and other organizations regarding loan requests.
* Communicate with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process.
* Obtain credit reports, financial statements, and other financial information in support of a loan application. Analyze applicants’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans in accordance with the BICF Loan Policy.
* Prepare Loan Requests and supporting financial data for the review of the Staff Loan Committee and the Loan Committee of the Board as necessary.
* Coordinate conference calls with Staff Loan Committee and the Loan Committee as needed.
* Prepare all loan documentation, including loan commitment letters, notes, mortgages, loan payoff, and satisfaction as appropriate.
* Coordinate with title insurance company and settlement agent for loan closing.
* Coordinate with accounting staff to set up new loans in the operational database, including loan terms, amortization schedule, loan payment coupons, and ACH.
* Maintain electronic and, as necessary, paper files on all loans and correspondence with clients.
* Maintain and update fire, property, and liability insurance files for all properties secured by mortgages and contact or send reminders to mortgage holders as needed.
* Prepare a summary cover sheet for monthly loan reports to send to Bishops, church treasurers, and other authorized persons.
* In consultation with BICF Executive Director and/or BICF Controller, contact any borrowers who are not current in loan payments to determine appropriate strategies for repayment and respond to requests from borrowers about the status of their loan(s).
* Provide the BIC Communication Office with stories from the field that help promote lending opportunities with the Foundation.
* Promotes and manages BICF’s matching grant program for outreach initiatives.
Operations
* Ensure that all safety apparatus remains in good working order, including fire extinguishers and AEDs. Inspect and/or repair/replace as needed.
* Ensure that the building is kept in good working condition, arranging for maintenance and repairs of both infrastructure and equipment as needed.
* Ensure that the grounds and parking lots are kept in good condition, arrange for lawn maintenance, care of flower beds and shrubs, and snow removal as needed.
* Arrange for weekly cleaning services for the building.
* Arrange for regular pickup of trash and recycling.
* Monitor utilities use and change service suppliers as necessary.
* Serve as liaison with Messiah University for I.T.
* Maintain Microsoft Tenant for .bicfoundation.org.
* Ensure all software is updated.
* In consultation with Messiah University IT, prepare and maintain necessary policies pertaining to IT security.
* Serve as primary in office support person for BIC U.S. and BICF staff.
