Job Description
Based out of our offices in Billingham, the Senior Electrical Engineer will:
* Plan and organise all electrical technical functions specific to the project
* Coordinate interaction between in-house teams and clients
* Provide guidance on technical requirements
The successful candidate must have a strong electrical engineering background along with experience managing design projects. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Aid in the pursuit of new project work by attending pre-bid meetings; identify scope, schedule, and budget; actively participate in preparation of proposals; lead client interviews and presentations as needed.
2. Effective communication and teamwork with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams are crucial for aligning technical requirements with project objectives and ensuring smooth project execution.
3. Leadership and coordination are paramount in overseeing multi-discipline design teams.
4. Fostering collaboration, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that the collective expertise of the team is harnessed efficiently towards project goals.
5. Demonstrated experience working with multi-discipline design teams.
6. Develop project execution plans including definition of scope, schedule, communication tools, software tools and deliverable distribution lists.
7. Balance competing priorities and optimize resource allocation is key to maintaining project schedules and delivering outcomes within stipulated timelines.
8. Identifying potential technical risks and formulating mitigation strategies to navigate unforeseen challenges during project implementation.
9. Develop and maintain positive client relationships for all projects executed by Jones Engineering Manufacturing Ltd.
10. Engage with clients, external stakeholders, and sub-consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Build and nurture positive client relationships by addressing technical concerns and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
12. Collaborate effectively with external partners, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
Skills and Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering discipline.
* 10+ years’ experience as an engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant design project management experience essential.
* Fluent English essential.
* Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations essential.
* Knowledge of BS7671 Electrical Regulations essential.
* Knowledge of Electrical Systems essential.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office essential.
* Experience working with Quality software would be advantageous.
* Candidate should be a high-energy professional with excellent communication, organisation, and analytical skills.
