Your Future Team:
As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approving Authority. Your primary role will be to support current operations and future programmes, particularly in nuclear facilities and the delivery of services across Client Sites.
Your Missions:
1. Manage Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents.
2. Handle design changes and concessions.
3. Present design substantiations to safety committees.
4. Develop EIMT schedules, procedures, and results.
5. Produce Periodic Review of Safety reports.
6. Advise internal and external stakeholders.
7. Conduct Independent Technical Reviews.
8. Apply engineering knowledge to nuclear/high-risk environments.
9. Justify civil/structural design modifications.
10. Review reports and safety submissions.
11. Check and review calculations and technical documents.
Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of current design standards and practices, including British & European Standards.
2. Theoretical and practical skills across concept, detailed design, and construction stages for electrical engineering projects.
3. Experience in assessing electrical plant and equipment for hazards.
4. Specifying electrical systems/components for HV & LV networks at 50Hz & 60Hz.
5. Authoring technical justifications for electrical design modifications in high hazard industries.
6. Familiarity with industrial machinery like pumps, generators, HVAC, SCADA, PAVA Systems, etc.
7. Experience in multi-discipline projects providing electrical engineering input, especially in industrial/maritime sectors.
8. Familiarity with safety case development techniques like HAZID/HAZOP studies.
9. Worked in the UK nuclear industry (energy or defence), especially in safety-related structures, systems, and components.
10. Knowledge of UK and US nuclear industry regulations, and application of nuclear-specific codes and standards.
Additional Information:
1. Hybrid role with visits to client.
2. Security Clearance: SC, UK National.
3. BEng in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
4. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent experience.
5. Safety case related training.
