Job Title: INTERNAL ONLY Community Sports Development Officer Location: Blaenau Gwent Hours: 30 hours per week Salary: Grade 6 ( 32,115 FTE / 16.65 per hour) Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2026 Key Responsibilities Develop and implement inclusive sports and physical activity programs. Engage with local schools, community groups, and key stakeholders to promote equal access to sports. Support the creation of new community sports sessions and hubs. Recruit, mentor, and develop a network of volunteers, coaches, and leaders. Monitor and evaluate participation, ensuring programs meet performance targets. Work collaboratively as part of a regional team to shape inclusive sports opportunities across Gwent. Identify and apply for funding opportunities to sustain and grow programs. Ensure all initiatives align with the Sport Wales Vision and Strategy. Essential Skills & Qualifications Relevant degree or equivalent sports-related qualification. Level 1 (or above) National Governing Body coaching award. Experience working in community/voluntary sports settings. Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends when required. Access to transport for travel across different venues. Desirable Skills Knowledge of disability sports and school sports structures. Experience in marketing and delivering sports programs. Budget planning and monitoring experience. Welsh language skills (desirable but not essential). Why Join Us?
