Job Opportunity: Assistant Group Payroll Services Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Group Payroll Services Manager to join our Payroll Team based in our Retford office.
The Payroll Services Team is passionate, highly organized, and prides itself on providing outstanding transactional payroll support to approximately 3,000 colleagues and managers across the PIB Group, in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The role requires excellent attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and proven payroll experience.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple payrolls to ensure smooth operations.
* Contribute to the training and development of the payroll team, tailoring training plans as needed.
* Assist the Group Payroll Services Manager in assessing long-term payroll trends.
* Prepare and complete audits and reports as required.
* Liaise with high-level stakeholders and management.
* Handle and resolve payroll queries promptly and carefully.
* Manage auto-enrollment for our company pension scheme.
* Oversee the annual P11D process and submissions to HMRC.
* Analyze, process, and report on the Gender Pay Gap.
* Update the team’s Standing Operating Procedures to reflect current legislation and system updates.
* Meet individual and team targets.
* Ensure compliance with all payroll financial and legal obligations.
* Assist with accounting procedures and systems.
* Contribute to the preparation of monthly payroll statistics.
* Support recruitment of team members based on set criteria.
* Develop plans for team activities and payroll strategies to achieve targets.
* Set an example in commitment, work ethics, and personal character.
* Maintain accurate payroll and related records.
* Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Experience:
* Leadership and management experience in a payroll team.
* At least 5 years of continuous experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
* Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
* Strong stakeholder management skills.
* Experience with TUPE/Integration processes.
* Ability to perform under pressure.
* Global experience and Workday system knowledge are preferred.
