The Role:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will join our team of highly technical, multi-disciplined, and enthusiastic engineers and project managers; and be responsible for Systems Engineering of the Electro Magnetic sensors and In-Water equipment for projects within QinetiQ’s maritime ranges.
Day-to-day, you will be tasked with working closely with the Engineering Delivery Manager and Work Package SME to apply systems engineering practice, technical leadership, and rigour to the Electro Magnetic and In-Water products and artifacts.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Implementing systems engineering practices aligned with program values
* Preparing In-Water equipment sub-systems for Production Readiness Review and ensuring completion of design proving and production acceptance testing by the end of the financial year
* Plan and conduct a full system dry integration test in May/June 2025
* Manage weekly work package outputs, assigning and tracking tasks using project tracking tools (e.g., Kanban, Jira)
* Report monthly progress and work with the Project Manager / Engineering Delivery Manager to align the project plan with the current status, while managing technical output and addressing challenges
Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer:
* You must have experience with product lifecycle management from design through to in-service
* You must have experience leading tasks in a Systems Engineering environment
Essential qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer:

This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth Technology site. Hybrid working patterns are available and travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
