Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Doncaster.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. This service supports two ladies and one gentleman, each with very different personalities. There is no personal care in this service at present; the people we support need assistance with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, administering medication, finance, health appointments, and accessing the community for hairdressers, social activities, shopping, etc.
What we're looking for:
1. A genuine passion for supporting others.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
3. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
4. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Drivers with access to their own vehicle are preferred but not essential.
Contract options:
Part-time: flexible hours based on availability.
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 6 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life! We have a variety of shift start and finish times.
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45.
Join us at Mencap and be part of a team that believes in equality, diversity, and inclusion. Together, we can create a brighter future for individuals with learning disabilities and empower them to break down any barriers they may face.
Mencap's vision is for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with learning disabilities. If you're ready to embark on a rewarding career that truly makes a difference, apply now!
* Due to the nature of this service, we are looking for female-only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act, Schedule 9, Part 1.
* All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Benefits:
Why join Mencap?
· 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) + a variety of benefits including pension and holiday buying options.
· Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
· A supportive and inclusive work environment where your contributions are valued.
