Care and Support Worker Must have a full UK drivers license Salary: £15/hour - £16/hour (Umbrella Scheme) | £75 per night shift Location: Newcastle (Postcode: NE5 1NP) Working Hours: Full Time About the Role: Yorkshire Community Healthcare is seeking dedicated Support Workers/Carers to join our team. We are looking for compassionate individuals to provide essential care for a young teenage gentleman with Type 1 Diabetes who uses an Omnipod and has an acquired brain injury. This is a 2-1 care package, and you will be working alongside a lead carer to ensure the best support for the client. Working Pattern: - Day Shifts: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 15:30 - 22:00 - Night Shifts (sleep in ) 22:00 - 06:00 and support 06:00 - 08:30 getting ready for school. And Alternating Shifts: Thursdays and Saturdays (daytime hours may vary based on the family's needs). Client Details: The client is a young teenage gentleman who requires 24-hour care and is fully reliant on staff for mobility and safety. He is a wheelchair user and requires support with moving and handling. He is non-verbal and attends specialist school. The home is fully adapted with facilities for carers and sleeping accommodation. The family enjoys outings, and you will assist in his mobilisation, including using the family's wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Requirements: - Right to work in the UK - Minimum of 6 months' experience as a Care and Support Worker in the UK - Enthusiastic and outgoing personality to connect with the client - Compassionate and patient nature with excellent communication skills - Must be a driver - Willingness to attend mandatory training in Leeds - Preferably experience working with children who have an ABI, Type 1 Diabetes, or mobility issues - Ability to provide emotional support with empathy and compassion - Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances - Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality care - Ability to provide two employment references - DBS Check required Why Join Us?
