Senior Interior Designer
Fantoush is an Edinburgh based interior design studio, working in high end residential and commercial projects across the UK. Our signature style is an eclectic curation, combining pieces from different periods and countries to create a unique story for every room; mixing old and new to produce timeless design. In each project we create layers of interest, combining scale, textures, textiles and art and we love searching for those beautiful pieces that make a room sing.
We are looking for a Superstar Senior designer to join our small team as soon as possible as we start exciting new projects over the coming months.
We are looking for a highly organised designer with a minimum of 5 years experience in an established interior design studio to work on the design team with Director, Emily Smoor and head up their own projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about interior design, a highly creative and inventive designer who is always looking for ways to take their designs to the next level. We are looking for an excellent team player who brings positive energy and a can-do problem solving attitude to the table. A natural people person who can establish strong and constructive relationships with discerning clients, contractors and suppliers.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
1. 5 years experience in an established interior design business.
2. Excellent FF&E knowledge of suppliers in the UK of both new and antique/vintage furnishings.
3. A strong knowledge of boutique fabric and wallpaper houses and an innate ability to mix patterns and colours together in interesting ways.
4. Strong Estimac skills with the ability to manage project and FF&E budgets.
5. Time management skills - the experience to manage their own time and make accurate projections of how long a project will take as part of the fee costing process.
6. Oversee project timelines to ensure projects are delivered when they should be.
7. People Management - the ability to delegate projects tasks while supporting and managing team members and offering constructive feedback.
8. CAD Skills - the applicant must have excellent technical drawing skills and be confident in designing bespoke joinery and furniture, producing production quality drawings with a meticulous eye for detail.
9. Site Experience - the candidate must display confidence on site and have the necessary construction language to be able to discuss technical details on site with contractors and architects.
10. Software - must be proficient in Microsoft, Estimac, Vectorworks (or similar) and Photoshop. Experience with Programa and Monday would be helpful.
THE ROLE
The position is based in our North Edinburgh studio, five days per week from 9-5pm.
Immediate start.
Our clients are all over the UK so overnight travel will be required along with some longer days on installs.
Salary dependent on experience. Available on application.
Generous Holiday allowance and one day WFH per week.
Probationary period to ensure we are a good fit for each other.
