About The Role JOB PURPOSE: Operate as the financial lead to support our UK & International sales team via commercial analysis, reporting and providing insights to ensure robust decision making and a clear understanding of financial implications. KEY RESULT AREA / PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ownership of the On & Off Trade / Distilling / International sales Budget and Forecasting process. Weekly / Monthly reporting on performance at both a customer & brand level – highlighting ongoing trends and trajectory. Delivery of budget via clear scenario planning, including generation of risks and opportunities to plan. Tracking monthly initiatives to highlight their value to the Group. P&L consolidation. Challenging P&L assumptions and results versus expectations and forecast. Running key account reviews to understand metrics behind performance. Project lead with regard to IT, process changes. Production of a Rolling 12 month forecast and beyond (helping to support the Groups 5 year plan). Clear articulation in terms of value drivers, customer & brand mix, as well as influencing strategic decision making. Influence and advise on all promotional and investment decisions, ensure all are based on firm ROI assumptions. Clear tracking of these initiatives to generate a ‘playbook’ of promotions and associated ROI. Evaluation of new business opportunities such as new contracts, distribution agreements, local brewing initiatives, profit share models and licensing agreements. Presentation of findings to senior management in a simple and concise manner in order to inform strategic decision making. Be a key member of the S&OP process ensuring joined up and co-ordinated approach to the forecast between UK commercial team, supply chain and FP&A. KEY RELATIONSHIPS - INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL: Work closely with the Commercial Finance Director to explain On and Off Trade performance. Direct support to the Commercial Sales Director for UK & International, supporting On and Off Trade, including the Distilling function. This will require close business partnering and support to all key functions within that team. Key point of contact between Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Planning, working with colleagues across the business to develop awareness of the financial implications of business decisions and pursue a joined up approach for the achievement of our business objectives. Drive a collaborative working culture across both the finance and retail functions, working closely to ensure fulfilment of business requirements whilst encouraging openness and approachability. Work together with the other departments to ensure the smooth running of the total operation. Make decisions based on what is best for the business and not just your department. About You CRITERIA ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFIC TRAINING Degree qualified with a strong academic track record Qualified accountant (e.g. CA, CIMA, ACCA, ACMA) with at least 10 years PQE with experience of consumer or FMCG sectors essential. EXPERIENCE Experience of leading a finance department. Experience gained in an organization or environment with a high degree of complexity and pace A background in businesses going through rapid growth is desirable KNOWLEDGE Capable of driving change and constantly challenge the status quo.
