Job overview
This is an exciting new administrative role that will help support the Clinical Endoscopist (CE) team as they expand within their professional roles. The administrative assistant will be central to meeting the admin needs of the department by maintaining accurate data entry, responding to queries both verbal and non-verbal and providing support during meetings and training. The post holder will be integral in the management of upper GI histology for gastroscopy procedures, ensuring histology is monitored, updated on the appropriate databases and relayed back to the patient in a professional and timely manner.
Main duties of the job
* Provide Administrative support when required to the Clinical Endoscopist (CE) team.
* Support the CE team in answering and recording patient and health professional telephone enquiries and escalate clinical calls to the CE team appropriately.
* Ensure all patients receive an updated histology report or clinical letter relaying their histology results (Upper GI only).
* Liaise with the wider endoscopy team and other health care professionals when required and relay/escalate appropriate information back to the CE team.
* Manage own workload and act independently within occupational guidelines, using own initiative, seeking advice where necessary from the line manager ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* To attend meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes.
* To book rooms and support both in-house and external training events and undertake routine office duties including photocopying and scanning.

* Educated to GCSE level A*-C in English language or equivalent (e.g. Functional skills level 1 or above; in Adult literacy at level 1)
* Educated to GCSE level A*-C in Mathematics or equivalent (e.g. Functional skills level 1 or above; in Adult numeracy at level 1)
* Good Keyboard, word processing skills
