Salary: £28,624 - £31,067 FTE (Actual Salary based on weeks worked and hours: £8,650.44 - £9,388.74)
Contract: Fixed term until August 2026 to cover a temporary reduction in hoursHours: 13 hours per week (Days to be agreed, Wednesday and Friday preferable) term time only to include INSET days (39 weeks). We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant.
The successful candidate will work as part of a skilled and supportive team of TAs who specialise in working with pupils with a range of special educational needs and barriers to learning. This exciting opportunity provides opportunities to work within our fully inclusive primary school including Resource Base. In liaison with the class teachers and SENCO the role will require you to: Be a ‘Champion’ of SEND provision throughout the school
contribute to the planning, assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
adapt and differentiate learning opportunities to remove or reduce barriers to learning
work with children across the whole of the Primary Phase (including supporting children from our outstanding Resource Base and EYFS)
Build strong relationships with our children understanding and responding positively to their learning, physical, emotional and/or communication needs to encourage inclusion and independence.
Be able to work effectively within a specialist team sharing good practice with colleagues whilst continuing to grow your own professional development. Please refer to candidate information pack for further details. Fluency Duty:
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Blackhorse Primary School are extremely proud to have South Gloucestershire’s only Primary Resource Base for autistic children and children with social communication difficulties. Our Resource Base comprises of 2 small classes led by qualified teachers with a high adult pupil ratio with our RB children fully including within mainstream classes, some including part-time whilst others remain in the Resource Base; with a view to including for at least some of the time by their first annual review.
