Job summary To support in providing a psychologically informed service to patients in the Clinical Medical Psychology department, within the Paediatric Diabetes Management speciality.To provide a specialist psychology service to medical patients (including clinical assessment, formulation and treatment), taking into account the full range of need including psychological, social and medical factors. This will involve working with patients across the lifespan (i.e. patients may be under the age of 18 years and their families, and adult patients) through outpatient clinics. The role will involve direct clinical input, consultancy, supervision and training. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for providing psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions, to children and young people with diabetes and their families. You will work closely with other members of the paediatric diabetes team, including consultant paediatricians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Clinical supervision for the role will be provided by the psychology lead for paediatrics. The multidisciplinary diabetes team highly values psychology input and you will be actively included in team meetings, alongside providing consultation and advice to other healthcare professionals on the psychological aspects of diabetes care.
