The role of the Senior Packing Technician is to oversee, direct, and support packing technicians in ensuring that all final products are stored, checked and prepared for dispatch in line with site procedures. This includes a variety of storage and packaging requirements depending on the product.
Facilitate scheduled and ad-hoc delivery and courier pickups.
Ensure that Products required for dispatch are packed and available for delivery by working closely with Customer Services, Planning, Production and QA.
Maintain the Dispatch area for cleanliness and perform daily checks as required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7-3pm and 1-9pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Packing
* Direct and supervise Packing Technicians to uphold GMP standards and achieve important metrics in accuracy and timeliness of dispatching products to customers.
* Liaise with the production department, customer services and external couriers as the main point of contact for dispatch.
* Support improvements and raise any concerns with the dispatch supervisor.
* Use the local EMS (Electronic Manufacturing System) to dispatch products in accordance with the priority and delivery times shown.
* Use the correct packaging for the Product type and the Delivery mode.
* Pick the correct Batch and quantity. Check the integrity of the product.
* Ensure batches are released before dispatch.
* Creation of Delivery sheets and labels.
* Packs according to local validation requirements including weight, volume, number of units, chill down time where applicable and packaging materials as specified by procedure such as, but not limited to, frozen or conditioned ice blocks, spacers, air pockets, insulation and wool packaging.
* Follow GDP guidelines to complete paperwork.
EHS
* Ensure the safety of self and others when using walk-in refrigeration units.
* Ensure the safety of self and others when working in Warehouse environments including safe working practices, including manual handling, PPE and Forklift awareness.
* Ensure the safety of self and others in the control of Hazardous Drug spills.
* Oversee the maintenance of the dispatch area as a clean and tidy environment using 6s principles.
Quality
* Responsible to raise Quality issues to local site requirement.
Experience / Skills
* Previous experience working in a GMP regulated environment desirable.
* Previous experience in people management or overseeing a small team is desirable.
