Position: Field Service Engineer
Location: Rotherham base covering a pre-allocated geographical region of Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire
Salary: £32-35K + fully expensed van + target related bonus + healthcare + 25 days holiday (plus stats) + pension
As Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and service work alone or alongside other service engineers.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Carry out field planned maintenance and service work on our range of Blowers and Compressors, as well as other manufacturers' equipment as required.
2. Complete all site work safely, meeting customer site requirements for access, certification, and safe working.
3. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with agreed company standards and good engineering practice.
4. Generate site reports for all site visits and advise the Line Manager of outcomes or requirements.
5. Complete work as directed by the Site Service Co-ordinator, Site Services Manager, the After Sales Manager, and the Managing Director.
6. Participate in further and continuous training and development in the UK and Germany as required and agreed.
7. Conduct site visits to customer premises, which may include Sewage Treatment Plants, Factories, Cement Plants, Flour Mills, and Paper Mills.
8. Perform mainly mechanical work, including changing belts and oil/filters, checking vibration and machine tightness, and installing/removing equipment.
9. Perform electrical work, including checking operation and function of instruments and sensors, VSDs, and system controls.
10. Manage yourself on site, meeting customer expectations and working to the benefit of the Company.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform all of the essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education:
Ideally a HND/NVQ3 in Engineering or equivalent. A proven track record in a related industry may be a suitable alternative to a formal qualification.
Experience:
Preferably experienced in Mechanical Engineering, within the Water, Pneumatic Conveying, or Materials Handling Industries. A good working knowledge of the units sold and their mechanical function, operation, and optimisation is required.
Language skills:
Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Mathematical skills:
All normal engineering requirements.
Computer skills:
Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Autocad would be advantageous.
Electrical Engineering skills:
Some electrical engineering skills would be desirable.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
A full driving licence.
Physical demands:
The employee must be suitably fit to carry out the demands of the job role described.
General:
The candidate should have the ability to deal with all types and levels of customers.
Location:
Must be able to operate effectively from a home base with minimal support. An expensed Van will be provided.
