This is a unique opportunity to lead a highly skilled and committed team of 17 advisers and specialists who together are working in partnership with businesses to deliver real nature positive improvements for biodiversity across the economy.
What's the role about?
You will be responsible for the team that secures business conservation partnerships and delivery of this charity's aims of conservation impact, nature positive business change and additional income. In particular you will:
1. Lead a team of business conservation advisors
2. Develop the skills and capabilities of the team towards high performance and a positive culture
3. Be responsible for the quality of the charity's inputs into business conservation partnerships and alignment with outcomes
4. Work across the charity's teams to ensure there is a robust plan to bring new partnerships
5. Be responsible for effective stakeholder management and collaborative external and internal relationships
6. Lead the communications, impact reporting and promotion of the team’s work
7. Direct the team’s activities and work plans, meeting the required ambition and managing risks
8. Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation
9. Oversee the budget so financial targets are met
10. Report to and liaise with relevant governance boards
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
1. Good understanding of nature conservation and businesses engagement on sustainability
2. Strong track record of engaging with business partners
3. Experience of leading teams and uniting them to deliver impact
4. A strong customer focus and experience of contract management
5. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing business plans
6. Strong financial management skills
7. Proven experience meeting targets and delivering impact
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
9. Extensive stakeholder management experience
