An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Accommodation team as a Project Worker. We are looking for enthusiastic and professional Support or Youth workers to provide guidance for young people aged between 16 and 22. You will provide comprehensive support to young people in our Housing Related Support (HRS) accommodation setting in Ipswich. Your role as a Project Worker is to assist and encourage young people to gain the important life skills they will need to maintain independent living after resettlement. You will do this by working through a personalised support plan with the young person. Key duties include; Provide high quality person centred support to enable and empower clients to develop the skills necessary for independent living within legislative, regulatory requirements and best practice. Work within YMCA Trinity Group policies and procedures upholding the values and ethos of the organisation. Maintain high standards of supervision and support in order to create a warm, caring and homely atmosphere Assist in the running of the residential areas of the Project and ensuring a high level of working practice Ensure continuous development of key working and support packages in line with organisational policies and procedures Participate in the on-call system and work a late shift in operation. Some weekend or evening working may be required. Skills and Experience In summary, the successful applicant will have the following qualities: Experience of working with young people with complex needs, although not necessarily in a housing context A good understanding of partnership working with external agencies and internal services. Ability to write reports, keep case notes and client records. Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car. Ability to work within a reactive environment. A good understanding of Housing Benefit and other benefits preferred.
