Typing clinical correspondence relating to outpatient and inpatient attendances and other patient related correspondence on behalf of the consultant and clinical teams using EPRO Responding to email enquiries from clinicians/other team members directly resolving where possible or transferring to appropriate personnel. Dealing with patient enquiries via phone in a helpful manner, observing the need for discretion and courtesy. Taking responsibility for returning any follow up calls as necessary. Liaising with both clinicians and other team members to meet demands of department. Manage their workload in line with the departmental requirements or as identified by the senior medical secretary. Support administrative process as deemed appropriate by the Senior Medical Secretary and PSC. Answer phone calls and deal with enquiries relating to patients and clinical work from a variety of sources, directly resolving where possible or transferring to appropriate personnel. About us The Eye Department is predominantly based at St James University Hospital, Leeds but we also offer services to patients at Seacroft Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital. We are the biggest outpatient department in the Trust There are 29 consultants in the wider Ophthalmology Department. The team also trains Ophthalmic specialist trainees from the region. We have recently moved into a new outpatient department which has provided us which much more space for patients and clinicians and includes our Laser Vision Department which provides refractive services to private patients as well as NHS.
