As the Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Risk Management to help the organisation in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating risks.

Description
The Risk Manager will support the Head of Risk Management in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating risks. This role requires a proactive approach to managing various types of risks, including strategic and operational risks. You will be accountable for the performance and delivery of all risk outputs and deliverables, including risk reports.
1. Write reports suitable for Board-level executives, creating impact across significant elements of operations or organisation.
2. Present risk insights and recommendations to leadership and relevant committees.
3. Take a lead role in the timely delivery of activities and assignments across the business or in specific field of delegated responsibility.
4. Build strong relationships, negotiate with, and influence management.
5. Promote best practice within the team and across the business.
6. Support the professional development of QRA agenda across the business colleagues within their specialism and a range of disciplines.
7. Lead on quality assurance, ensuring work aligns with professional standards, e.g., IIA, IRM.
8. Maintain knowledge of the strategy, organisational development, and risks to inform QRA activities.
9. Proactively work with business divisions to identify areas for focus and contribute to overall improvement in governance and risk management.
10. Support the implementation of robust corporate processes to ensure the organisation operates within its agreed boundary of risk.
11. Foster a strong risk-aware culture across all levels of the organisation.
12. Manage the team, assess priorities, and ensure quality of the team's work.
13. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the team.
This role is specialist in nature and is expected to contribute to the medium and longer-term objectives of the team.
Profile
Essential
1. Ability to deliver high-quality outputs and deliverables, with a high degree of own initiative in a complex environment.
2. Ability to negotiate and work alongside a range of contacts, including senior management, with the motivation to promote improvements.
3. Relevant previous experience, including management of other professionals in execution of activities and assignments.
4. Ability to examine, analyse, and contextualise complex issues; identify key points and develop effective, practical recommendations.
5. Ability to manage a team to deliver activities and assignments to time, cost, and quality.
6. Experience working in or with organisations of a comparable size and/or complexity.
7. Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills.
8. In most circumstances, candidates will have a relevant formal professional qualification appropriate to the role (ACA, CIMA, IIA, IRM, etc.).
9. Direct previous experience of working in audit, assurance, or risk functions.
Job Offer
Up to £85,000 plus benefits.
Birmingham or London based - 3 days a week.
