The firm is now looking for an experienced Head of Data Centre Engineering Operations to drive operational excellence and align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
This innovation-driven company develops and operates sustainable data centres for some of the worlds largest technology companies across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
As the Head of Data Centre Engineering Operations, you will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic direction of the Engineering Operations team.
Your expertise will ensure operational excellence and alignment of engineering initiatives with business objectives.
You will oversee the implementation of safe systems of work, validate compliance through a global audit program, and drive efficiencies by optimising processes and infrastructure across all data centres.
Responsibilities
1. Lead the strategic direction of the Engineering Operations team, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with business objectives
2. Oversee the implementation of safe systems of work and validate compliance through a global audit program
3. Drive efficiencies by optimising processes and infrastructure across all data centres
4. Manage and develop a team of technical and planning professionals, ensuring their growth through guidance, training, and clear performance objectives
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to maintain critical asset management programs and oversee budgets
6. Validate engineering design proposals through all RIBA stage gateways, minimising risks and maintaining safety standards
7. Establish and report on key performance metrics to continuously enhance engineering excellence
8. Drive innovation and operational improvements to support the mobilisation of resources and optimise maintenance strategies
Requirements
1. Strong technical background in a critical industry operational environment
2. NVQ level 5 in an engineering/industry related field (required)
3. Bachelors degree or equivalent (10 years + experience) (desired)
4. In-depth knowledge of data centre infrastructure, root cause analysis, and CAFM systems
5. Minimum 5 years experience of leadership within a critical industry
6. Minimum 3 years experience with CAFM systems
7. Able to work cross-functionally with both external and internal customers
8. Minimum 5 years practical experience in either electrical or mechanical systems
9. Flexibility to travel to project sites as required
10. Budget (OPEX/CAPEX) knowledge (desired)
