Workshop & Calibration Technician
We are currently seeking a Workshop & Calibration Technician to support our expanding clients operation. This role is integral to delivering innovative and improved products to market by assembling, repairing, calibrating, and packing products to specification.
Job Overview: The Workshop & Calibration Technician will be responsible for the assembly, repair, calibration, and packing of all products, ensuring that they meet company specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble products according to approved drawings and specifications.
* Ensure all products meet quality standards and are built to the required specifications.
* Interpret and follow simple wiring diagrams.
* Repair products in compliance with company procedures and standards.
* Calibrate products according to company procedures.
* Pack finished products in alignment with company procedures.
* Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
* Participate in both internal and external training as required by the company skills matrix.
* Ensure that all tools and equipment used are fit for purpose.
* Accurately update the MRP system (Odoo).
* Contribute to internal audits and continuous improvement efforts, including identifying and addressing errors or technical issues.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
* Provide support to other departments on the shop floor as needed.
Note: The list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may evolve based on business needs. At this the stage of posting the advert, the role will be 80% calibrations with 20% working with repairs/within the workshop.
Mandatory Requirements:
* GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
* Experience in a Mechanical, Engineering, or Production environment.
* Experience with pipe bending, particularly using stainless steel pipes and compression fittings.
* Proficient in drilling and tapping metal work.
* Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation and drawings.
* High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
* Proficient with PC applications.
* Strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in soldering (through hole, basic SMD, wire-to-wire).
* Experience in small to medium-sized company environments.
* Familiarity with regulated industries.
* Experience operating machinery such as lathes, pillar drills, and bench grinders.
* Experience in PCB testing and fault finding is a plus.
