New opportunity for a System Engineer (DCS & Safety), located at offices in Aberdeen, Scotland, within the Industrial Automation sector. A bit about the role: Role involves delivering first-rate support as the technical point of contact, from project handover through to closure, under the direction of a Customer-Centric Team Leader. Initiating projects, system design, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) classification, and project planning. Managing detailed design and overseeing the safety lifecycle, configuration, and technical specifications for procurement. Overseeing suppliers, performing internal testing, and executing or leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Coordinating site transitions, handling installation, commissioning, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure a quality, customer-approved system handover with all necessary documentation. Emphasis on quality control and ensuring seamless project completion. Support clients in smart manufacturing and autonomous operations through digital technology, helping tackle challenges in production complexity, asset management, energy efficiency, and supply chain optimisation. Configure DCS software based on client documentation, including user requirements and control guidelines. Perform alarm management with a focus on EEMUA 191 standards. Program continuous and batch process control software for industrial applications. Apply functional safety principles, including SIL classifications and SIF calculations. Oversee or carry out detailed design tasks, creating function block programs to implement safety functions in logic solvers, covering all shutdown protocols, hardware integration, and visual interfaces. Update and assess impacts on existing safety systems as needed. Work effectively with minimal supervision, supporting team objectives within a structured environment. Conduct internal testing and lead or participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Manage the transition to site and installation process, including Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and documentation handover. What’s required: You will have relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, or industrial automation. Possess a TUV Functional Safety Certificate or have equivalent in-depth knowledge. Hold at least an HNC in an engineering or process-related field. Familiar with management systems like ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001, and ISO45001. Hold a valid UK driving license.
