Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

Your Mission
* Lead the development of the vehicle simulation tools and methods used throughout the company.
* Lead the development of the underlying numerical and optimization methods.
* Research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art simulation methodologies to aid in the optimization of vehicle performance and vehicle development.
* Lead the development of automated model correlation and testing routines.
* Optimize the computation efficiency and robustness of all simulation tools.
* Contribute to the development of the vehicle physics model.
* Prepare documentation and presentations for software users and technical management.
* Coordinate and communicate development priorities with other departments.
* Define group skills targets/matrix and implement development plans.
* Define and implement processes to ensure quality of released software.
Your Profile
* Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
* Extensive experience developing simulation models and tools, ideally within Formula 1 or another high-level motorsport environment.
* Previous management experience would be beneficial.
* Strong coding skills in C/C++ and good knowledge of C#, Python, Matlab, Simulink, and/or Modelica would be advantageous.
* Expertise in developing simulation software and solving computational engineering problems.
* Expert knowledge of numerical methods and optimization methodology.
* Expert in developing lap time simulation tools and methodologies.
* Strong background in many of the following areas:
o Optimization Methods
o Mathematical modelling and simulation
o Computational efficiency
* Good understanding of physical mechanics, engineering dynamics, thermal science, and fluid dynamics would be beneficial.
* Highly self-motivated, dedicated, creative, result-oriented, and able to work independently with a very high attention to detail.
* Capable of weighing and balancing competing priorities and short- vs long-term objectives while maintaining quality.
* Dedicated, persevering, open-minded, innovative, and a team player.
