An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our busy but friendly Clinical Coding Team.
The post holder will be the key coding lead for the Divisional Service Team; the post will also involve the day-to-day coding, supervision of the coding team and largely be responsible for assisting the Head of Clinical Coding in developing systems and strategies to improve the overall quality of clinical coding. This will incorporate mentoring, internal auditing and training of clinical coders when required, with a strong component of liaison with clinical staff. Candidates therefore must be Accredited Clinical Coders.
You will be part of an established team in promoting Clinical Coding and HRGs to Clinicians, Junior doctors, other health professionals and various levels of clerical staff and ensuring collection of good quality data.
Hours per week: 37.5
Assist the Head of Clinical Coding in the development, implementation and maintenance of a Clinical Coding Strategy, policy and systems to ensure a Clinical Coding service which meets best practice guidance.
1. To integrate Clinical Coding within the Trust, by liaising with the division’s clinical and operational managers and clinicians to advise on data recording practices to ensure clinical coding accurately reflects care delivered and communicate complex coding rules and standards to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
Abstract, analyse, translate and data entry of complex medical patient care records into diagnostic and procedural coding in an accurate and timely manner adhering to the Trust deadlines.
