As our Accounts Payable Manager you’ll be responsible for leading and developing the Accounts Payable teams to ensure that supplier invoices are processed and paid on a timely basis and in accordance with Bupa’s Procure to Pay Policy, Regulatory requirements and internal ambition.
You’ll have ownership of the Accounts payable process for one of our biggest unit’s with circa £850M & 250K invoices per annum. You’ll lead the management of the day-to-day activities across multiple Accounts Payable ledgers and using multiple currencies covering both ‘trade’ / Supplier payments and non-Supplier payments.
Some key responsibilities:
* Ensure that Bupa’s Risk Management Framework is adhered to, identifying and managing material risks with effective controls.
* Lead direct reports to ensure professionalism and development of the teams.
* Build effective business partner relationships across all BGIUK business areas.
* Maintain up-to-date expert knowledge of accounts payables practices and legislation.
* Develop innovative solutions by challenging the status quo.
* Work with key stakeholders to implement projects that reduce costs and enhance automation.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements relevant to your role.
* Plan and deliver reporting requirements in a timely manner.
* Identify and monitor KPIs related to invoice management.
* Present insights to internal teams and steering groups.
* Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities as required.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* A solid understanding of AP accounting with relevant technical skills.
* 5-10 years of experience in a P2P department of a multinational Company.
* Comprehensive understanding of P.O. and non-P.O. processes.
* Strong ability to build relationships across functions and leadership levels.
* Skilled leader, mentor and trainer.
* Track record of managing teams and developing staff.
* Good commercial acumen with strong technical finance skills.
* Experience in improving financial processes and controls.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills.
* Ability to challenge Senior leadership respectfully.
* Ability to drive process change and improvement.
* Passion for developing a high-performance organisation.
