The Role:
My client is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead their Edinburgh PBSA. You will be responsible for the overall operation, strategic planning, and performance management of our student accommodation facility. Your mission will be to drive resident satisfaction, streamline operational processes, and ensure financial targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, including leasing, maintenance, resident services, and compliance with health and safety standards.
* Team Management: Lead and motivate a diverse team, including facilities, leasing, and customer service staff. Provide ongoing training, performance reviews, and mentorship to ensure a high-performing environment.
* Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets, oversee service charge and operating cost control, and deliver accurate financial reports.
* Tenant Relations: Enhance the resident experience by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering community engagement through events and initiatives.
* Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies to boost occupancy rates and drive revenue growth.
* Contract & Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers, ensuring timely completion of maintenance and refurbishment projects in line with budgetary targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven track record in managing large PBSA or student accommodation facilities.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
* Excellent operational, financial, and compliance management abilities.
* Demonstrated success in improving occupancy rates and resident satisfaction.
* Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with residents, stakeholders, and service providers.
* Relevant qualifications in property management or hospitality management are advantageous.
