DN ADMINISTRATOR – North Hub
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our administrative service in Community Nursing and we are now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our fast-paced, friendly team as an Admin Assistant in the District Nurse Administration Team.
This position is based at Haxby Health Centre.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility for providing administrative services for the District Nursing Hub contributing to an efficient delivery of administrative processes and ensuring that service users receive the highest levels of customer care.
The role will involve working against a set of administrative procedures to support the DN team leader for matters such as staff management, HR and recruitment.
Main duties of the job
1. You will support patient care using SystmOne and working alongside the District Nurse team, assisting them with arranging patient visits, updating patient records and scheduling clinic appointments.
2. Administration of directorate/departmental meetings as and when required.
3. Streamlining the archiving of patient records.
4. The Admin Assistant will also be responsible for the support of clerical officers within the team ensuring that the service remains fully operational at all times and ensuring new staff are appropriately inducted into the team.
This is a challenging role requiring excellent IT skills, to include knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word/Excel/Outlook. You will need to have excellent communication skills as you will be required to liaise with a wide range of professionals and patients. You must be effective in prioritising workloads with a flexible and patient-centred approach. You must have the proven ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as part of a team.
Previous experience of NHS systems including SystmOne would be advantageous but not essential as full, comprehensive training will be given.

Education, Qualifications & Training
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification /demonstrable experience.
* Computer literacy skills to RSA 3, NVQ 3 or equivalent.
* ECDL.
Experience & Knowledge
* Previous secretarial/administrative experience (1 year minimum).
* Previous office/administrative experience in an NHS environment.
* Previous experience of supervising others/the work of others.
* Experience of dealing with confidential information.

* Able to organise and prioritise own workload.
