Salary: £12.00 per hour (£23,400 per year, pro rata) plus Benefits

We are looking for Female Communication Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to be able to drive and have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
Furthermore, as Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
* Daily activities such as personal care, laundry, meal preparation, medication, and administration
* Getting to know the person you will care for and helping her to live the life she wants to live
* Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered
* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the person you will care for
* Helping the lady you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long-term aims
* Planning and supporting activities, such as vacations, learning, and social engagements, always being creative and exploring new opportunities
* Ensuring the person you will assist and their families are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
* British Sign Language trained to Level 1 or above
* Working in accordance with SeeAbility’s values
We are looking for someone who can devote 37.5 hours per week and is willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Who will you be supporting?
At Stewards Bungalow, we support a lady with autism who is non-verbal. Although she can hear perfectly, she communicates using British Sign Language at an extremely high level. It is very important that you are able to understand her quickly, letter by letter.
As a support worker, your contribution will be invaluable. You’ll work as a team to ensure outstanding support in line with our vision and best-centred care, helping this lady live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities
* Providing direct support during behaviors to enable her participation in activities
* Ensuring good working practices, including understanding health and safety
* Promoting independence and developing skills while assisting with tasks to ensure positive life experiences
* Working positively with other agencies, carers, and services to ensure person-centred care
* Developing and maintaining records and support plans, functioning as a Key Worker when required
* Supporting her to maintain a clean environment suitable to her needs
* Participating in ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
