An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Operations Technician to join our team at our site in Edinburgh.
We are looking for individuals with a range of assembly and testing experience to join our space clean room environment working on some of the most cutting edge technology within the space sector. This is a great opportunity for someone from either a space background or potentially a manufacturing and engineering discipline to join our company with great prospects.
Senior Operations Technician responsibilities
1. Performs hands-on diverse technical tasks related to testing of advanced electronics and RF assemblies for space applications.
2. Support testing, troubleshooting and fault isolation of these assemblies by performing well defined development tests, system integration, and formal acceptance tests, which includes environmental testing.
3. Thermal and functional testing.
4. Set-up, program, and operate general and special test equipment for the program to perform Acceptance Test Procedures.
5. Lifting and handling fixtures as well as the ability to handle and manipulate delicate circuit card assemblies.
6. Must be able to keep detailed test logs, follow detailed test procedures without error and provide daily pass-along shift information (both verbal and written documentation).
7. Execute on cleanliness/standardization, Safety, equipment/lab maintenance and Operating System tasks on a daily basis; demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
8. Daily interaction with both test technicians and engineers. Communication and Teamwork skills are extremely important.
Qualifications
1. A related technical qualification or equivalent military training/experience.
2. Experience in an electronics discipline.
3. Experience with General Purpose Test Equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers).
4. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to follow step-by-step procedures and follow precise instructions.
5. Ability, flexibility and willingness to work overtime.
6. Ability to read schematics, follow procedures, and apply computer skills and technical knowledge to competently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
