We are looking for a dynamic leader, passionate about intrapartum care.
The post holder will have expert clinical knowledge as a delivery suite co-ordinator, being able to lead, coach and mentor other midwives in advancing the midwifery profession. You will show leadership both professionally and managerially, acting as an expert role model to staff within the unit, demonstrating credible midwifery clinical skills in the care of ante/intra and postnatal women.
The role will be split to incorporate 75% Managerial duties and 25% clinical duties.
The post holder will have responsibility to ensure that Trust Policies and procedures are adhered to and that the department is equipped to deliver high standards of evidence-based care.
The post holder will have overall accountability for the care delivered within the delivery suite and have line management responsibilities for the team, including the responsibility for supporting professional development, and will work collaboratively with others to develop women-centred services.
You will maintain clinical competencies, ensuring practice is evidence-based.
Main duties of the job
To demonstrate effective leadership, planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of services. Show excellent communication skills. Ensure patient safety through robust governance processes and sharing learning from incidents. Contribute to audits. Ensure policies and processes are up to date: Infection control, Safeguarding, Information Governance, Health and Safety. Adhere to the governance framework.
Work in partnership with colleagues across the CDG to provide both clinical leadership and develop standards to promote high-quality practice.
