Your New Role
Do you have surface modelling, 3D CAD assembly modelling, Auto CAD experience? Are you experienced in Aerospace Engineering, integration and certification documentation?
If so, we may have the job for you. We are recruiting for a Design Engineer to join our Design & Technical team at our RFD Beaufort Division based in Ellesmere Port.
The Design Engineer will support the product design of new lifejackets and rafts (single seat and multi-seat) and maintain and enhance existing design data. They will be involved in the ongoing development of further products to expand the product portfolio. Some products will be Aviation certified, so Part 21G/J and Part 145 experience is preferred (although not essential). In addition, the Design Engineer will support the ongoing transfer and development of new designs, changes of design methods and launch new or existing products into various sites and sub-contractors globally.
The Design family is responsible for creating everything from the initial concept to the final design of our products. They develop ideas for new products and prototypes, as well as evolving the design details of established ranges. They deeply understand the safety needs of our customers and deliver innovation that captures our design strategy and brand values. They integrate innovative functional solutions with world-class creativity to support Survitec’s vision to become the most trusted provider of safety services.
What You Can Expect From The Role
* Analysis of customer requirements
* Development of design concepts
* Detailed pattern design using GERBER
* Participation in design reviews and customer meetings
* Preparation of design documentation
* Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and photography
* Support manufacturing sites through New Product Introduction activities
* Support prototype development working closely with machinists
* Participate in Design for Manufacture reviews
* Technical liaison (Internal business meetings, Sales support, Tender support)
* Hold technical reviews with suppliers to optimise design for quality and cost
* Provide customer support as required throughout the development process
* Support testing events, on-site and off-site
The Experience, Qualifications And Skills You Will Have
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a Product Design/Engineering discipline
* Experience of surface modelling and assembly modelling in a 3D CAD environment
* Completed suitable education/training of ISO 9001/AS 9100
* Trained in Auto CAD
* Understanding of technical drawings
* Knowledge of UK MOD DAOS and EASA Part 21G&J requirements
