We will be opening a new service in the Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno area of Conwy and are looking to recruit passionate, committed and enthusiastic part-time support workers (2 x 30 hours) to deliver vital support to people with a learning disability.
As a Female Support Worker, flexibility is key as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts. You should have the ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, and sleep-ins. Your flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.
The role can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. You will need to be quick-thinking and have a positive can-do attitude.
Having a full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.
You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45 for any sleep-in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep-ins is non-contractual.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Female Support Worker, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
* Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and cooking delicious healthy meals;
* Excellent communication skills & Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships;
* Community & Social Inclusion – supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality;
* Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering, and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
