Methods are currently looking for a User Researcher on a contract basis.
Duration: 6 months with likely extension
Location: Any location with travel to London and Leeds for research and to meet with the team, including travel to both for onboarding.
Overview:
The UR will be the sole researcher on the engineering team but will be part of the WAS user research team. They’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering all research. This includes designing the approach, recruiting internal users, documenting and creating all research materials, conducting and analysing the research, as well as creating, documenting and sharing outputs. They will also work directly with the team’s product manager and other colleagues to ensure findings from the research feed into decisions on how to make improvements to our live service and the experience of our engineering team users.
Specification:
We require a user researcher with at least 3 years’ experience who can work independently and deliver user research to standard without day-to-day support. Ideally, they have experience working on research projects with internal staff users and internal services.
* Research methods and planning: Ability to plan and deliver user research, using appropriate methods, working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Analysis and synthesis: Ability to analyse and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data, involving your team, and presenting clear and actionable findings.
* Inclusive research: Experience of researching with a wide range of users, including users with additional needs and other hard-to-reach groups.
* Ethics and safeguarding: Awareness of research ethics and how to keep participants, teams and yourself safe in research, and how to get advice on these topics.
* Research leadership: Helping a team adopt user-centred practices, and ensuring user insight informs team decisions.
