Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;
Highway Structure Schemes such as Culverts, Bridges, Retaining walls, Subways.
Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;
Project Management of highway and civil engineering projects from inception to completion and hand over.
• Take the lead on managing and delivering highway structure schemes as directed by the Structures Contract Manager. Tasks including but not limited to:
o Receive and respond to client
o Put together tender packages to get prices, programme and manage the delivery of schemes.
o All matters related to Health and Safety on Site and CDM.
o Finances
o Quality control and technical sign offs/approvals
o Assist the Client with stakeholder and third parties liaison and correspondence.
o Contractual administration and preparation of the relevant site documents
o Routine audits and inspection
o Site measures
o Site completion and sign-off
• Take the lead and represent the Structures Contract Manager when requested at various meetings with both Client and supply chain partners.
• Motivate self and others.
• Provide technical support and offer practical solutions to resolve challenges encountered during the construction phase.
• Actively foster positive staff morale.
• Willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management.
Formal qualifications required;
• Degree or HND level in Civil Engineering or demonstrable equivalent breadth of experience in the industry.
• 5 years’ experience managing the implementation of structural engineering schemes including the technical, H&S, communication, and financial aspects of projects for a contracting company.
• Demonstrable experience in working in a contractual environment.
• Demonstrable contract administration skills.
