Job Advert We're excited to announce an opportunity for a DBS Administrator to join our small but mighty team You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and compliant processing of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for our employees, volunteers at Mencap, and external customers. This is a full-time, permanent position with flexible working options. The role requires you to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, covering shifts between 8am – 5.00pm on a rota basis, you can choose to work from home or from our Peterborough office, with occasional office visits as needed. During your first month of training, you'll be expected to come in twice a week. You'll be working closely with one other team member. Here are some of the key responsibilities: Administer and manage DBS checks for new and existing staff, volunteers, and external customers. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of DBS results, ensuring confidentiality and data protection. Communicate with applicants and stakeholders about DBS check statuses and required actions via emails and phone calls. Respond to queries and provide guidance on the DBS process. Support internal and external audits by providing data and presenting evidence. Assist with managing DBS-related documentation and archiving. Liaise with the DBS or third-party providers for escalated DBS matters.The successful candidates ideally will have experience working within a customer service environment and using a range of systems.
