Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Practitioner to join the Northumberland and North Tyneside At Risk Mental State Service (ARMS).
The ARMS service is a small multi-disciplinary team offering interventions to try to prevent the onset of psychosis. We welcome applications from enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in working with young people and adults aged 14-25 who are thought to be at risk of developing psychosis. This is an exciting and developing service which is research active and may well expand into the prevention of other mental health problems. The team is an independent service but works closely with local Early Intervention in Psychosis services.
Our team works closely with the service users and their families over a 6 month period, during this time we offer a range of therapeutic interventions to support their recovery and mental health needs. With the aim of reducing the distress associated with attenuated or transient psychotic symptoms and reduce the number of transitions to psychosis.
This is an opportunity to be a part of a very supportive team, where your contribution and development are highly valued.
You will be involved in completing holistic assessments and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Care coordination is part of your role, however in ARMS we aim to keep caseloads to a manageable level. This enables clinicians to focus on quality interventions and increased clinical contact, with an emphasis on recovery.
