Description
Fixed Term Contract, 37 hours per week. Until the end of the academic year.
To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide high quality learning and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area of the Department.

Key Responsibilities
1. To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide high quality learning and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area of the Department.
2. To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
3. To deliver departmental requirements of core content that will support students to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours.
4. To deliver on Level 1, 2, 3 and HE programmes as required by the demands of the curriculum, specifically on our L2 Criminology, L3 Uniformed Protective Services & L3 Criminology programmes.
5. Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
6. To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
7. To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
8. To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.
9. To be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
10. To observe and keep aware of Health and Safety documentation and procedures in line with College Policy.
11. To undertake classroom or workshop risk assessments if required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
2. Full UK driving licence.
3. Demonstrate broad knowledge of issues within the FE Sector.
4. Experience of working within a public service/crime prevention environment (i.e. police).
5. Demonstrate experience of delivering good or outstanding teaching or mentoring.
6. Demonstrate practical experience or knowledge of classroom management in particular children and young people and/or vulnerable adults.
7. Demonstrate proven experience of delivering crime and/or criminology-based curriculum or training sessions.
